Claire + rebecca

December 6th , 2024 | San Diego, CA

When Claire and Rebecca first filled out the inquiry form, I had to do a double take. “We’re having an intimate elopement”—okay, cool, love that. But then— “We’re not inviting anyone”—uh, plot twist. As someone who literally designs things that invite people, I was momentarily confused. But then they hit me with the real plan: “…but we’re throwing a reception later, and we want it to be a PARTAYY.”

Say. No. More.

From the jump, I knew this was going to be a wedding project for the books. They gave me the usual inspo—color palette, venue details, all the good stuff—but what really got me was how they described the vibe of the reception. They wanted a night of dancing, drinking, and chaotic-but-iconic photo booth moments. Oh, and they were obsessed with the whole national park/adventure/summer camp aesthetic.

And then Rebecca (who, by the way, is a designer herself) hit me with the best news yet: “I love modern, type-driven design.” At that moment, I knew we were about to create something magical.

Claire and Rebecca brought personality to every single detail of their day. There was a selfie station. There were handcrafted signature cocktails. And, based on photographic evidence, I’m fairly certain at least five guests lost their voices screaming their hearts out to early 2000s bangers.

And the paper goods? Pure perfection. For their save the dates, we went full-on cool camp counselor mode—photo booth-style strip of their engagement pictures, casually paperclipped onto a sleek, modern, typography-heavy card. Then came the invitations, which were just as bold: crisp type-driven layouts, cheeky wording, gold monogrammed wax seals, and a national-park-inspired welcome tag, all tied up with leather cord for that rugged, “we-travel-a-lot-but-in-a-chic-way” feel.

It was modern, it was fun, it was so them. Claire and Rebecca didn’t just throw a party. They threw an experience. And if that isn’t the goal of all great weddings, I don’t know what is.

Things to notice:

Photo-booth strip stacked with teardrop clip on save the dates, leather cord wrap, custom monogrammed wax seals, custom die cut tag, and envelope liner.
