La Dolce Vita Goes West

Who says you need the Amalfi Coast to have an Italian summer? Because apparently, Colorado can do la dolce vita too.

Surrounded by mountains at Gold Mountain Ranch, this wedding brought the feeling of the Italian coast somewhere completely unexpected. Think golden yellow florals, soft blue details, lemons in the sunshine, an aperitivo moment, a table made for lingering and mountain views that definitely didn’t need any help being dramatic.

And somehow, Italy and Colorado made perfect sense together.

Because wedding inspiration doesn’t have to be literal. Loving the feeling of an Italian summer doesn’t mean you need to book a villa overlooking the Mediterranean or put lemons on every available surface. Sometimes it’s about figuring out what you actually love about that world and bringing those pieces into your own.

For this design, it was the color. The warmth. The effortless feeling of a long summer dinner where nobody is in a hurry to leave.

The stationery was our first chance to bring that feeling to life.

Soft blue became the unexpected anchor, paired with warm ivory, delicate stripes and painterly artwork that felt like a glimpse into a dinner somewhere along the Italian coast. The envelope liner was colorful and loose, the typography felt romantic without becoming too formal, and the Welcome Aperitivo card might as well have come with an Aperol Spritz.

Then the mountains entered the chat.

Against the rugged Colorado landscape, all of those softer details suddenly felt even better. Yellow florals spilled across the tablescape. Orchids mixed with wild, sunny blooms. Lemons sat alongside patterned linens and natural wood. Clear chairs practically disappeared into the scenery, letting the flowers, table and mountains fight over who got to be the main character.

This is your permission slip to stop asking whether everything in your wedding “goes together.”

Your venue doesn’t have to dictate your entire aesthetic. A mountain wedding doesn’t automatically mean rustic. A coastal-inspired wedding doesn’t require an ocean. And loving Italy doesn’t mean your only option is packing 100 of your closest friends onto a plane.

Take the parts you love and make them yours.

Bring the aperitivo to Colorado. Put the orchids next to the wildflowers. Pair the powder blue with sunshine yellow. Wear the black tie in the mountains. Let your invitations introduce a world your guests haven’t seen before.

Because the best weddings don’t look like they were pulled directly from a Pinterest search.

They feel like two people took everything they loved, mixed it together, and somehow made it make perfect sense.
