A CLOSER LOOK
Proof That Your Wedding Can Look
Like a Fashion Editorial
(And Here’s How to Steal the Vibe)
July 2025 | Moncure, NC

Some weddings whisper.
This one strutted in and said, “Do you have this in citrus?”
From the moment you stepped into the space at The Sky Room in Moncure, NC, you could tell this wasn’t going to be one of those soft-focus, blush-and-beige wedding shoots. This styled editorial had range – color that hit like a first sip of champagne, design choices that doubled as fashion statements, and a bride who literally stood on the table. In heels. While serving face.
If you’ve been pinning minimalist gowns and modern venues but feel over the sea of neutral sameness, keep scrolling. This is proof that your wedding can look like it belongs in a fashion magazine….without feeling cold or overproduced. And yes, you can totally steal the vibe.
As the stationer, I had one goal: design something that felt like an extension of the space, the florals, and the energy – not just a paper product.
Inspired by Lauren of LS Planning and her “heirloom charm meets modern celebration” concept, we created a suite that was all punch and personality:
✦ Die-cut shapes that layered and curved like a deconstructed sculpture
✦ Custom envelope liners (houndstooth! unexpected! chic!)
✦ Funky fonts with just enough edge
✦ And a vibrant, juicy palette that tied into every detail of the day
The menus followed suit: shaped, styled, and totally in sync with the vibe. The kind of details that don’t just sit pretty on a plate… they complete the table.
The florals from Jade Floral Co. didn’t tiptoe in, they exploded. Think: poppies, ranunculus, playful greenery, and tucked-in citrus slices that looked good enough to eat. It was maximalist, but never messy. Editorial, but still inviting. A floral handbag made an appearance. Nobody was mad about it.
Even the tablescape felt like a still life with a secret: amber glassware, layered linens, bold napkins, and curated chaos that somehow came together like it was always meant to be.
Styled by ev.polish and dressed by Sero Bridal, the bride gave us runway-ready with every frame. She was soft and sharp. Edgy and elegant. Effortlessly cool and completely iconic – especially in that table shot that deserves its own billboard.
So, how do you steal this vibe?
Easy. You ditch the rules and start with a vision that feels like you. Then surround yourself with vendors who know how to take a moodboard and turn it into magic. Here’s the thing: You don’t need a theme. You don’t need a Pinterest-perfect color scheme. You need clarity, boldness, and design that actually means something.
And if you want your invitations to feel as editorial as your day? I know a girl.
