Posted on April 1, 2021

This project is perfect for little hands and short attention spans!

SUPPLIES & TOOLS

  •  Canvas (could use paper as well depending on how you want to display it)
  • Yellow paint
  • Plastic fork
  • Sharpie
  • Googly eyes
  • Red felt
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Amazon shopping list for easy ordering! Check it out here.

Step 1: Gather and ready your materials

Put some paint on a paper plate or bowl, pick out 2 eyes of the same size, and cut your beak so it’s ready to go!

Step 2: Grab your fork

Dip the back side into the yellow paint. Keep a paper towel nearby in case you need to wipe of excess paint.

Begin placing the back of fork in the center of your canvas. Keep making strokes in the shape of a circle to form your chick and to get the chick as full as you want.

After you have the shape of the chick how you want it, let the chick completely dry.

place your heart on the canvas

Step 3: Grab your glue

Put some on the back of the eyes one at a time and place them on the chick (try to get the eyes and beak centered on the canvas).

Glue your beak centered underneath the eyes

Step 4: Draw legs

Grab your sharpie and give the chick two legs centered underneath its body.
